Repost

Salvador Dalí had two great loves in his life: his wife and muse, Gala Dalí, whom he married in 1934, and his home overlooking the bay of Port Lligat.

What began as a cluster of small fishermen’s huts slowly evolved into Dalí’s white, labyrinthine seaside refuge on Spain’s Costa Brava. Over decades, the artist transformed the space into a surreal environment filled with symbolic details: from giant eggs perched on the roof to rooms oriented toward the sunrise over the Mediterranean.

Inside, zigzagging staircases, narrow corridors, and even a taxidermied polar bear reflect Dalí’s playful obsession with perception, mystery, and beauty.

Preserved today almost exactly as Dalí and Gala left it, the house remains suspended somewhere between the real and the dreamlike, part home, part studio, and perhaps the artist’s most personal work of art.

Antoine Billore transported an impressive collection of antiques and debut furniture pieces from Paris for L'Appartement, a collaborative selling exhibition with L'Artisan Parfumeur. The artful arrangement of artwork within the space serves as a valuable inspiration for our interior design projects!

Bespoke Glass is at The Beck

We are so excited to showcase a local stained-glass studio, Bespoke Glass, at The Beck this season. Bespoke Glass is a studio-based business conceived in Scotland, founded in Brooklyn in 2011, and now based in Kingston. The studio designs & produces custom and readymade stained glass & glass objects. All glass is cut by hand, using simple tools and a mix of centuries-old techniques and modern methods. Bespoke approaches stained glass differently than most studios, striving to create well-crafted objects that are about more than the light passing through, and aims to make things you've never seen before that will fit into your life/space

Bespoke Glass is the project of Lesley Green. As a designer and craftsperson, Lesley's goal with Bespoke is to elevate and innovate traditional stained glass techniques into unique, contemporary designs for beautiful residential and
commercial spaces
