Native Plant Growers Native Roots is a small, sister owned and operated native plant nursery and retailer.

Our goal is to be a resource for home owners and businesses concerned about ecological restoration. We carefully collect all of our own stock from our favorite plant communities in Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. We grow many varieties of grasses, sedges, shrubs, and young trees that thrive in moist environments such as wetlands, floodplains, rain gardens, and drainage swales. Additionally, we grow many wildflower species that are hosts for bees, butterflies and other important wildlife.

Native Roots will be at the Medina Square Farmers Market this Saturday (May 23) from 9AM–1PM in historic Public Square.

Come shop one of Northeast Ohio’s favorite farmers markets featuring 70+ local vendors offering fresh greens, fruits, vegetables, herbs, flowers, heirloom produce, local meats and cheeses, homemade jams and jellies, nut butters, local honey, fresh bread, baked goods, and more.

Stop by the Native Roots booth, support local businesses, and enjoy everything the market has to offer.

Free parking and easy access make it an easy Saturday morning destination, located just 4 miles west of I-71.

We look forward to seeing you in Medina this weekend.

Join us on Saturday, May 16th at the 5th Annual Native Plant Festival, hosted by Summit County Metro Parks at Munroe Falls Metro Park!

Native Roots will be there from 10 AM to 3 PM, along with other local vendors offering a great selection of native plants.

Take a look at our online product page ahead of time to explore what’s available in our 2026 catalog. If there’s something you’d like us to bring to the festival, feel free to reach out in advance—we’ll do our best to have it ready for you!

Celebrate the start of summer at the 5th Annual Native Plant Festival hosted by the Summit County Metroparks.

Native Roots will be there on Saturday, May 16 from 10am - 3pm, alongside other local vendors with a wide selection of native plants to help you build a healthy, wildlife-friendly landscape.

Visitors will receive a free seedling or seed packet from the Metroparks while supplies last.

Enjoy live music, food vendors, and a nature-inspired performance to close out the event. We hope to see you there.

Join the Conservancy for Cuyahoga Valley National Park for a Low Power Happy Hour speaker series event featuring a conversation with three Northeast Ohio native plant nurseries. Native Roots, Inc., Natives in Harmony, and Meadow City Native Plant Nursery will share insights about their work and answer audience questions on restoring native habitats at home, including topics like invasive plant control, site preparation, and choosing the right native plants.

Guests will also have the opportunity to shop a small selection of native plants to take home from each of the vendors. Bring information about your yard conditions (sun/moisture) and walk away with some plants or ideas!

Native Roots, Inc. will be at the Medina Farmers Market tomorrow, Sat, Jun 21, from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM. Come see us at the Medina Public Square! The plants are looking great this time of the year, and we are happy to advise you on what might work well in your yard. This will be our last scheduled event until August! Hope to see some of you!

Tomorrow, May 24, is our first farmers market at the Medina Square! We will have a great selection of our plants there and hope to see you! But please note that the location of the market shifted to a temporary location. See note from our market manager below.

“New location for this Saturday with the Same awesome vendors. With all the rain & cooler
weather we have had, we cannot be on the Square. The Memorial Day Marathon will start &
finish on Broadway Street, where we normally would be. So, we found a temporary home
for our market for this Saturday. Just look North on Broadway Street and you will find us on
the corner of West Liberty and North Broadway Street, looping into the spacious County
Administration Building at 144 North Broadway Street. You will see our red-canopied tent
in front of UCC. Thank you for your patience. We do what we can to work with the City,
County and other event organizers to keep things up & running (no pun intended) & to keep
our Uptown Park beautiful all season!”
