Planting small might intimidate some folks, but the benefits definitely outweigh the risks of planting root bound stock 😉
🌱 When roots run out of space, they stop growing, causing stunted growth
🌱 Smaller potted material, once planted in their forever home, are able to devote energy to vigorous, uninhibited growth, often reaching full maturity before root bound stock
🌱 Root bound material exhibiting “circling” which effectively is the plant strangling themselves, starving the plant of nutrients and oxygen
Worried about nurturing your lil friend?
💦 Regardless of the time of the year, we recommend folks to follow the 2-2-2 rule when watering newly established plants.
2️⃣ Water twice a week for the first two weeks after planting
2️⃣ Water to a depth of 2 inches, this will help make deep deep roots that will help you plants survive the heat of summer 🌞
2️⃣ then for the next two months after planting, keep an eye out for signs of water stress during periods of extreme heat 🥵
