The HUNT for the perfect pillow insert has officially been a journey.

If you follow it along, you’ll know I’m a huge fan of the 9010 down inserts. They have that perfectly relaxed, luxurious field that makes a pillow look effortlessly beautiful. The chopped, the drape, the squish… It’s hard to beat.

But not everyone can enjoy down. Allergies are real, and I wanted to find an alternative that delivered the same Designer look and feel without the feathers.

So I began my search for the perfect down alternative and poly insert.

The biggest difference? The squish factor.

Traditional poly inserts tend to feel firmer and more structured. They absolutely have their place, especially for outdoor pillows where durability and weather resistance matters the most, but for indoor spaces my goal was different. I wanted that soft sink-in feeling that mimics down without actually being down. A pillow that feels inviting molds beautifully and gives you that Designer finish.

The good news? The right down alternative insert can get surprisingly close and who knew so much thought could go into what’s inside a pillow.

A beautiful tablescape isn’t about perfection. It’s about creating a story your guest want to linger in.

When designing a table, I always return to these three simple styling techniques that instantly elevate the look:

Very the height: mixed tall vases, medium bowls and lower decorative pieces to create movement and keep the eye traveling across the table

Use objects of interest: unexpected elements make a table memorable. Vintage finds, collected treasures, decorative bowls, or seasonal accents to add personality, and spark the conversation.

Repeat colors: choose a color palette and weave it through your table, repeating colors in florals, linens, dishes and accessories creates a cohesive designer finished look.

The magic happens when these three techniques work together, creating depth, interest, and balance that feels effortless.

Decorative trims are having a major design moment, but we wanted to give the trend a softer more elevated evolution.

Instead of leaning traditional, we layered stitch flat braids with sheep wool long fringe to create a look that feels modern textural and effortlessly refined. The mix of tailored lines and organic movement adds depth without overwhelming pillows.

Before they were Paint decks, Pinterest boards, and color consultants, there was Sir Isaac Newton and his color wheel. 🎨

Newton’s discovery of the color wheel changed the way we understand color forever. He showed us how primary colors create secondary colors and how mixing colors creates undertones. These undertones are the hidden ingredient that make choosing colors so much more challenging than it first appears.

Bridget Beari’s Saturday Design tips. Today’s tip is my three favorite and essential tips for styling.
1. Vary the height - not everything should be on the same plain that why books are essential.
2. Work in odd numbers of 3 or 5. This also works for floral arranging.
3. Use a Tray. This helps pull groupings together and give a different surface texture and color.
