๐ A historic milestone for Aruba and the Caribbean ๐
Today, the ๐บ๐ณ๐ UNESCO Man and the Biosphere Programme (MAB) International Coordinating Council, held in Paraguay ๐ต๐พ, has officially approved the designation of the Aruba Biosphere Reserve, recognizing the entire island as part of UNESCOโs World Network of Biosphere Reserves.
From its iconic cacti-filled landscapes and unique desert ecosystems to its mangroves, seagrass beds, and vibrant coral reefs, Aruba demonstrates how people and nature can thrive together.
Home to more than 108,000 people, the reserve covers over 19,300 hectares and incorporates an Exclusive Economic Zone of nearly 3 million hectares.
