We are having a one day sale this Saturday, August 1st, 9am-2pm! Summer is a slower time at the nursery for us, but the plants are all looking so lush and ready to get in the ground. What’s currently in bloom at Good Seed: Sweet goldenrod, Bluemist flower, Fall phlox, Upland ironw**d, Black-eyed Susan’s, Wild quinine, Scaly blazing star, Butterfly w**d, Maryland golden aster and Partridge pea! The plants are looking beautiful and lush! Open every Thursday and Saturday 9am-2pm

You may have heard the term Keystone Plant. Doug Tallamy regularly emphasizes their importance. These are native plants that support a large number of caterpillars and specialist bees, which in turn feeds the most birds. It’s basically maximum impact planting. Especially, if you have a small space. We have a number of keystone perennials in stock! Come chat with us about them!

The nursery is really looking good and we have a lot of variety! We currently have 3 types of milkw**d ready for your monarchs! Common milkw**d, butterfly w**d and eastern swamp milkw**d. Plus, other plants that provide necessary late season nectar! Open until 2pm Saturdays and Thursdays.

We’ve extended our hours! Good Seed Natives is now open every Thursday and Saturday from 9am-2pm! We are very excited about seeing more of our native plant lovers!

We’ve added to our inventory! We’ve had a low stock of plants lately due to all the wonderful sales we’ve had. We can’t thank you enough! Now, we were just able to add quite a bit from our seed growing area. Each week we will be able to add more and more! We will be Final Gravity Brewing Co. today for the Brass and Bloom fest, 12-6pm. Here a list of the plats we will have: VA Bluebells, Black Cohosh, Wild Columbine, Pale Indian Plantain, yarrow, White-tinged Sedge, Turtlehead, Maryland Golden Aster, Rattlesnake Master, White wood Aster, Common Boneset, Wild Strawberry, Coral Honeysuckle, Wild Betgamot, Quinine, Fall Phlox, Jacob’s Ladder, Bluewood Aster, Cutleaf Coneflower, Narrow-leaf Mountain Mint, Culver’s Root and New York Asters. All the plants look great!
