We absolutely love our sunroom, bathroom, and patio — a masterpiece by Matt of Matthew Rowles Construction.
The style blends, and the quality matches perfectly, with the original house built in 1950 at 11 Jamison Road, Luray VA.

In 1950 the ‘Hackley House’ was designed by G.L. Baughan, known as ‘Hop’ in Luray. Some 75 years later, Hop’s son Lowell Baughan, a widely respected architect who happens to live across Jamison Road from us, led the design and technical specifications of our addition.
Every day now as we enjoy our new, beautiful space, we feel grateful to Matt. And every day we feel grateful to Lowell—and miss his smart, lively guidance and conversation since he sadly left us on January 6, 2025.

We can’t say enough about Matt Rowles’ multiple skills, work ethic, attention to detail, desire to please, honesty, and never-failing pleasant demeanor. And then there was the workday his truck pulled up and out came a generous bag of fresh tomatoes and veggies picked from his Rileyville garden!

We look forward to welcoming friends and neighbors interested in seeing Matt’s work.”
