The Rio Dell-Scotia Garden Club would like to say "thank you" to Jim Brickley, for painting the 2 planter boxes in "Marlene's Garden" across from the Shell Station. I mentioned to him that the paint was looking pretty worn out and he put a fresh coat on them within 2 days! Don't they look great? A lot of the nice things you see around town are the work of volunteers who quietly go about improving our town, without asking for anything in return. Please, if you see Jim around town, shake his hand and tell him "thanks" for all the great things he's done to improve Rio Dell.

The Rio Dell-Scotia Garden club and Eagle Prairie Arts District hope that you are all having a great summer. Many of our members had leftover plants, and I have way too many succulents (100's too many, actually), so in addition to the Co****le Tournament Fundraiser, we're also having another flower and succulent sale this Saturday, July 13th! The prices will be amazing, so please stop by the RDVFD bocce ball court to get some great deals this Saturday, July 13th. We are still in search of great prizes for the tournament winners, too, so if you know of anyone who wants to donate a cool prize, please contact us!

The park setting is across from the Shell Station on Wildwood Avenue. A dedicated gardener, Marlene, carries water in jugs to keep this garden thriving. "Marlene's Garden" is looking amazing this year. The RDSGC planted a few flowers for her this year to fill in some bare spots, but Marlene has planted and cared for the rest of these flowers for several years, so we have her to thank for this lovely garden. The plants in pots against the yellow fence were planted by Garden Club founders, Julie Woodall and Francesca Cumero. As you can see, the sweet peas are finally beginning to make the climb up the fence. They smell amazing, so if you get a chance, stop by and see them in person!

Come and play with us on July 13th! Eagle Prairie Arts District (EPAD) is the co-founder of the Rio Dell-Scotia Garden Club. Proceeds from this fundraiser help us bring more beauty to our community, so I hope we have a great turnout on Saturday, July 13th. If you can't make it to the fundraiser, you can still help us by donating at the Eagle Prairie Arts District page, and/or sharing this post and helping us spread the word. Thanks and I hope you're all having an amazing summer.
