FLIP drop alert!

I have 3 titanium, 1 aluminum, and 2 micarta

The micarta and aluminum ones are prototypes and will be sold at a reduced cost.

It’s taken me a bit of time to produce these (titanium) but I think I have a good system for them now. I have more titanium on the way and will be making more soon!

First Titanium FLIP came out looking 🔥

Need to fix some chamfers and tool paths and buy some appropriate titanium tooling still.

I also ran into some pretty bad warping in the handles after running the contour pass with the ball end mill. Does anyone have any tips for minimizing warping when milling ti? The sheet is .100” thick before milling. Maybe I should thicken up the handles?

Would love to hear your guys thoughts and tips!

Finishing up the brass lock bars for the SLIDE.

I figured some of you might be curious of my set up for making the lock bars. I start with a 6 in long bar and then use talon jaws to grip onto the very bottom and machine the first op. Then I flip it over into soft jaws which gives me an extremely repeatable position every time. I really like this set up. I get two finished lock bars every cycle!
