NEW STOCK ALERT!

There’s something almost electric about Spigelia marilandica — Indian Pink.

With its vivid red tubular flowers tipped in yellow stars, this native perennial brings a striking burst of color right when the garden often needs it most. We love how it helps fill the “June gap,” that quiet stretch between the abundance of spring blooms and the full arrival of summer flowers.

It’s beautiful in part shade, excellent along woodland edges, and a favorite of hummingbirds. A truly special native plant for adding color, structure, and life to the early summer garden.

Come see it in our gardens and you'll understand why we’re so excited about this one. We have both the straight native and the popular cultivar 'Little Redhead' in stock (while supplies last).

🚨 NEW STOCK ALERT! 🚨

We just received a shipment of Field Pussytoes in plug form ($5/plug), and they are ready to pad their way into your garden. 🐾

Field Pussytoes (Antennaria neglecta) are a sweet, low-growing native groundcover with soft silvery-green leaves and charming little blooms that look like — you guessed it — tiny cat toes.

They’re great for sunny spots, lean soils, edges, paths, rock gardens, and anywhere you want a tough little native with a very cute name.

Bonus: they’re a host plant for American Lady butterflies. 🦋

Come get your paws on some while they’re available!

Shopping at Sanctuary Native Nursery is so much more than picking out plants.

It’s a chance to slow down, wander through the display gardens, notice what’s blooming, hear the birds, watch the pollinators, and imagine what your own yard could become.

Native plants don’t just look beautiful—they help to create life. Recently, in one 5-minute recording at the nursery, we documented 25 different birds singing and calling around us. That’s the kind of abundance these plants help support.

So come visit, take your time, and enjoy the experience. Walk the gardens. Listen and look closely. Ask questions. Get inspired.

We’d love to help you choose plants, but we’d also love for you to simply enjoy being here.

Yesterday, we received these surprising snapshots from a customer.

It’s not too surprising to see monarchs checking out a native chokeberry, but it is a little surprising to see it happening in mid-May. (We typically see more monarchs a little later in summer.) Perhaps this portends good things for monarch numbers this year?

Let’s hope!

Fun fact: Monarch butterflies can taste with their feet. Who knew?!

This Mother’s Day weekend, give Mom a gift that grows.

Native plants have a quiet kind of magic. They bring songbirds to the garden. They feed butterflies, bees, and other native pollinators. They turn an ordinary window view into something alive with movement, color, and song.

And in so many ways, that magic feels a lot like Mom.

The way she makes a place feel like home. The way she notices the little things. The way she nurtures life, beauty, and belonging. The way time spent with her can feel simple, grounding, and unforgettable.

This weekend, bring Mom to the nursery or choose a native plant for her that will keep giving long after Mother’s Day has passed. A shrub that feeds the birds. Flowers that welcome butterflies. A plant that reminds her, season after season, how loved she is.

Give Mom a Mother’s Day gift that helps bring the magic home. 🌿💚

Happy Mother’s Day weekend from all of us at Sanctuary Native Nursery!

Sanctuary Native Nursery will be open from 10am-2pm Saturday.
