We've received notice that our sweet stand has been named 2026 Pillar of the Katy Trail by Magnificent Missouri!

We are soaking this in and feeling quite honored, to say the least. We have poured our heart and soul into this stand, and it has taken on a life of its own serving countless trail goers from near and far. We're small but mighty and we love making you all smile! Every visitor, every note is treasured. Hearing folks giggle in excitement as they approach the stand is one of my favorite things and we appreciate everyone who visits and encourages us.

​A special thanks to a couple of Katy Trail superstars: first off to David Kelly for the nomination, which in itself is a great honor coming from Mr. Kelly. He helped shape what we all now enjoy within Missouri State Parks, serving as MO State Parks Director, and a cumulative 39 years with the MoDNR.

​We also want to thank Dan Burkhardt, President of Magnificent Missouri and author of Trails Across Missouri, for offering such an award and for keeping the "important things" at the forefront of their work. We highly encourage you to check out their work, contributions in the trails growth from the start, and Dan's beautiful book as soon as you can. We will be incorporating more conservation philosophy in the next phase of our Katydid's wildlife garden.

​Being part of the lively and welcoming community in Rocheport and all who live and work alongside the Katy Trail brings endless meaning to our lives. To be acknowledged in this way is a dream come true and a moment we won't soon forget.

​Finally, we want to acknowledge the state workers, conservationists, artists, authors, restaurateurs, wineries, shop owners, and all the people and families who make up the heartbeat of the trail.
