Home office built in completed!

This client works from home and had some simple IKEA style bookshelves for storage and display, but wasn’t happy with the plain jane look of them.

We were able to take the bookshelves and trim them out to add a little curb appeal. While we do create custom cabinetry for similar projects, our customer was looking to Reuse the bookshelves but with a more finished feel. Here’s what we created, what do you think?

So we get a lot of people asking what the RE stands for in our name. Well, it can mean many things like Reimagine, Redesign or Reinvent. All things that we like to do when we are working on the projects you see.

Another important RE for us is Repurpose.

For this project our customer asked for something interesting and cool for their pantry doors. Challenge accepted! I found this beautiful salvaged entry door package at a local salvage warehouse. We took out the sidelights and sanded them down. Cut to size and add some clear polyurethane and hardware. Voila! Interesting and cool pantry doors with a story.

Take a look at this complete whole house renovation!

For this project we went through and replaced every interior door and all the door hardware. Every piece of trim and casing was updated and every outlet and light switch was replaced.

Every hanging light fixture was removed and replaced with sleek recessed lighting. The entire home was patched and painted, and the bedroom ceiling fans updated to match.

All of the carpet was removed so that the subfloors could be prepped to get rid of the squeaks. We enclosed the family room by building a wall and turning it into the customer’s new private office space. Lastly each bedroom closet opening was made to fit standard sized doors with the master closet getting a full refresh.

Did you know we do all projects, big and small! We even do custom items like these art easels that we built for the neighborhood child care center and preschool in Rochester. Megan and her team there are fantastic educators of the little ones. I’m proud to say that both of our littles are graduates of the school. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a preschool in the area.

After our kids moved on to elementary school, I wanted to do something to show our gratitude. I took inspiration from an idea found online. Nc3p is a nature school where the kids spend a lot of time outside. These easels will allow the kiddos to create masterpieces during their outside time. Built from cedar, they should withstand the abuse of the children and Mother Nature.

Kitchen in the country!

With this one we refreshed the kitchen with a little facelift. Same cabinets, new doors and a slick coat of paint. We handmade a walnut countertop and found a great washboard sink to finish it off. The pantry doors once lived a life as front door sidelights. We refurbished them and gave them a new life. New flooring throughout and a quick penny tile floor in the powder room to finish it off. Per the usual, surprises were found and dealt with appropriately.

Well it’s been awhile since we last posted and that’s on us. We have been super busy and it’s time to show all of you!

Here’s a bathroom that we just completed and it turned out amazing! The client asked us to enlarge the shower and clear out the rot. Ok, on we went down to the studs, it was a total gut! Surprises were found and dealt with appropriately. New finishes all around and this beauty was created. We hope you love it!!!

Our customer was lacking proper storage for coats, hats and shoes and needed somewhere to put them other than the catch all bench by the back door.

Here’s what we did, took a small area of unused space from the family room and turned it into a nook by adding a small wall. Then we custom built a cabinet where they can store all those loose items and keep the area neat and tidy. We think it turned out great and hope you do too!
