Weatherproofing not properly installed! Jason Pignagrande refused to correct or pay for interior damage as result from his roofing job.

Please seriously investigate 5 Star Improvements before hiring. This is what happened to a bedroom wall. Water leaked down the walls. Expensive skylights leaked, flashing improperly installed. Most of the crew is contracted off Craigslist! Crew members had recent criminal background and were untrained! Avoid! There are many skilled, honest trades/construction companies available.

Please be careful with hiring to repair your home/business.
There are plenty of honest trades individuals/companies.
5 Star Improvements, Rochester, NY is Not a company to seek service from.

This is the type of workmanship provided by 5 Star Improvements. Plywood buckled less than 3 months, skylight flashing was not secured. Water dripped down walls, broken pieces of Owen's Corning shingles used, wrong colors ordered, crew was hired off of Craigslist and unskilled. Owner hired Honduras crew and sent them up on roof in poor weather conditions. When confronted about working in harsh weather, home owner was told, " These guys need to finish the job."Interior painter sent to home had recently been arrested for endangering welfare of a child, attempting to out run law officers and posession of illegal drugs. 5 Star was approached by home owner regarding arrest record. Home owner was told, "We do not do background checks on our workers. "Crew threw wet materials into attic which damaged insulation and caused mold. Home owner was told full reimbursement for interior damage and as of this date has not been paid. Jason Pignagrande sent out a second crew which basically consisted of 1 man and took all summer. After second attempt to repair damage, home owner contacted a licensed contractor to inspect job. Multiple violations were noted. Jason Pignagrande refused to compensate damage stating, " This time I will send a good crew. (Third attempt) Jason Pignagrande added, "Good luck getting any money out of me. I am one of the top business men in Rochester. "
Repairs to home were provided by a different licensed contractor. All damage has been documented and photographed. Jason Pignagrande insurance company was contacted: United Claims Service who stated they only pay if negligence occurred and will not pay for shoddy workmanship.
