Tenth Annual No Plant Left Behind Overstock Plant Sale 10-05-24 - It is that time again, for Michael Hannen’s Tenth Annual No Plant Left Behind Overstock Plant Sale At The Birdhouse Almost Every Plant Is A DOLLAR! Saturday October 05th 2024 from 9:am to 4:pm, or until everything is sold out. The last hour from 3pm to 4pm bring your own box - fill a box sale $8 to fill a box - Everything Must GO!! Hosted by The Birdhouse Store, 3035 Monroe Ave, Pittsford, NY 14618, For Information, Details, and Directions - Call (585) 264-1550 Michael owns and operates a small home-based nursery in the city of Rochester, where he grows thousands of rare and unusual perennial plants as well as a variety of tropical houseplant species from all over the world. Michael grows his plants right out of his backyard city lot, and he has over 3000 varieties in his collection. Michael will be bringing all of his extra overstock plants to The Bird House, or in other words, 50 + trays of 20 or more plants per tray. They will be displayed on the patio front of The Bird House. During the year Michael pots up more plants from his amazing collection of rarities than he can possibly sell that year or winter over, and he hates to throw away a plant. So he will be bringing hundreds of his overstock plants to the Birdhouse Store. Note: As always there are some exceptional treasures at this years sale. Bring your own boxes and bags. We only take Cash or Check. Here is the way this sale works, and what makes it standout from other fall plant sales in the area: • The plant selections at this sale, will be for sun and shade, with a variety of heights, & bloom times, and also a small selection of houseplants for the indoor gardener. • All small size 4” potted plants will be $1 each. Michael has sorted through every plant in the nursery, and some of the plants are dormant, or going dormant. But it is fall after all, and rest assured there is a live plant in every pot. Some plants are tagged and some are not. So you could say this is also a Forest Gump Mystery Plant Sale, just like that famous box of chocolates, in some cases you won't know what plants you got until they appear, and emerge in your garden next spring. But rest assured there is a live plant in every pot. Many of the dormant plants are only half filled with soil so you can see the living plant. • All plants are grown in compost so pay attention to what is in the pot often stray seedlings are growing in and around the featured plant. • He also will also be bringing a small selection of his full priced super rare plants, those he cannot sell for a $1. Also there will be a small selection of half priced rarities. They will be marked by a colored sticker on the back of each tag.
