Did anyone else hear that loud noise yesterday around 3:30? Sounded like someone dropped a ton of change all over the ground. Like an old slot machine dropping quarters out of it like it had a malfunction.

We may of been the only ones who heard it because it was a box of silver quarters, dimes and 50 cent pieces we found for a customer. While cleaning the house a box broke open on the bottom and it was all wrapped change from the 50’s/60’s. That means it’s 90% silver coins and worth a lot of money. I looked up the values of silver coins on coinflation.com and holy ****. Silver dimes are almost $5 each, quarters are $12 each and half dollars are $24 each. The customer had over $250 in face value, which means she had over $12,000 in silver coins buried in a box, in an attic. These are the cool

Needless to say the customer was very excited to have found these and plans to use it for her child’s college tuition this year.

I love my job.

I’m sure everyone knows we demo sheds, right? Well we also do one of type of removals that are not as typical, as a shed tear down.

The customer at this job wanted to remove just the top of the structure, and leave the bottom of the deck as is. Over grown trees, soft roof, and bees definitely didn’t make this fun. In about an hour we had this removed, loaded and onto the landfill. Customer was super happy and grateful we were able to do it. Apparently other companies just said no. We don’t even know what that word means in the junk business. At home, that’s different and I know what it means.

This weeks find of the week is a massive hoard of shark teeth.

These were found in a bank foreclosure we cleaned out. The largest two were 6.25 inches long, and just over 5 inches wide. My favorite one was the blue/white speckled one. We didn’t find these in the ocean, but we did find them so it still counts, right?

As someone who hunts teeth this was a serious score for us. There was only so many we can keep so we went to Venice beach and was throwing some into sifters that kids were looking for. We gave away about 20 to random kids at the beach. The reaction we got was priceless

Beautiful sunny Tuesday, with no rain, which means our playground set removal, shed tear down and hot tub removal will go off without any issues. It’s so much nicer to do these jobs in the sun, instead of the rain. If we could only stop the snow, then we could do these jobs 12 months a year, instead of 6.
