Greetings Friends! Kimberly here from Gardens with Grace. Hoping you’ll join me for a free live online event - The Seed to Harvest Summit - brought to you by Seedtime.

Be sure to save your free seat now by using my affiliate link below:

https://seedtoharvestsummit.com/?ref=kimberly-grace74

🌸 During this free summit, you'll learn:

• How to build healthy soil – the foundation to a healthy, vibrant garden.

• How to water wisely — not more, but better – for maximum yield and minimum effort.

• How to deal with diseases – by working with nature instead of against it, addressing the root causes leading to plant weakness, and prevent disease by strengthening plants naturally.

• How to beat pests at their own game – from the inside and out, approach pests with wisdom instead of frustration.

• How to grow the garden of your dreams - a garden that nourishes you and your spirit!

What is it I always say – “Grow for the harvest & the joy!” :0)

This is the kind of learning that aligns beautifully with what we believe at Gardens with Grace — that small steps, taken with care, can lead to abundant growth.

If you’ve been around Gardens with Grace for any length of time, you know this already — gardening is rarely just about the plants.

It’s about patience.
Learning as we go.
Trusting the process, even when growth feels slow.

Still… there’s nothing quite like harvest day. You plan and plant, w**d and water, and guard your garden from pests and weather and weariness.

And then you step outside, empty harvest basket in hand, full of hope…
Only to find a handful of small fruit, tiny carrots & underwhelming root crops pulled from stubborn, hard-packed soil. It can be discouraging — especially when you’ve given it your best.

You can’t help but wonder – how do those gardening experts grow such Instagram-worthy gardens with overflowing harvest baskets? Here’s the surprising truth: It’s not as complicated as it may seem.

That’s why I wanted to share something special with you.

This is your chance to discover the secrets to high-yield gardens from the best in the gardening world! And even better news – It’s completely FREE!

*Update: we are making some progress on Mulch Mountain!! Lol

Hmmm …. if I was back east I would be shoveling snow. So I guess the giant pile o mulch is not so bad.

Lessons learned this season:
Will be careful not to plant too many heavy feeders close together in the raised beds. The pepper plants seemed to struggle with the kale.

Let me know your thoughts and lessons learned from your recent gardening season ….

Another day in the garden! My happy place. 😁
I’ve increased the height of the raised beds by adding more 2x10’s and braced the corners inside and out with galvanized L brace bracket thingy’s (the technical term I’m sure). Also framed up the corners with 2x4’s.

What do you all think?
Do you prefer the taller beds or lower?

The only downside to the taller beds is filling them. For these beds I used the Hugelkultur method and filled the base with logs, twigs, leaves and woodchips. Once the lower half was filled I added good organic soil (I like to use Dr Earth, Foxfarm, Pro-mix and Kellogg Organics). If the cost was lower I would have preferred to use Espoma garden soil and Espoma Land and Sea compost.
