We have been doing a lot of EV charger installs lately as more people make the switch. A lot of people try to get by using the standard 120v wall outlet, but getting 3 miles of range per hour gets old really fast. Putting in a dedicated 50-amp circuit gets you a full charge overnight while you sleep. A lot of homeowners don’t realize Monroe County may have programs available to help with certain home repairs, including electrical work, for income-eligible homeowners.
If you live in a qualifying suburban town or village and meet the program requirements, it may be worth looking into.
For some people, electrical repairs get pushed off longer than they should because of cost. If this program can help someone make needed repairs safely, that’s worth knowing about.

The weather is finally breaking here in Monroe County. Before you plug in the power washer or start setting up outdoor patio lights this weekend, take five seconds to hit the "test" and "reset" buttons on your outside outlets. Winter weather and moisture are tough on those outdoor GFCIs. If the button does not snap back into place, the outlet is dead and needs to be swapped out before you use it. Have a great weekend!
