Here are some helpful tips to avoid your pipes from freezing during these frigid cold temperatures:
Let the cold water drip from a faucet served by exposed pipes. Running water through the pipe—even at a trickle—helps prevent pipes from freezing. Keep the thermostat set to the same temperature during day and night. Open up cabinets under your sinks to allow the warm air to reach the pipes. Always make sure someone is home if faucets are running or if you have space heaters on. Frozen pipes often lead to burst pipes.
