Notification about float switches equipped with LED indicators that light up when triggered: these are not compatible with communicating systems because the LED's power consumption can trick the system into thinking the circuit is closed. To adapt these switches, one can disable the LED light by cutting the jumper wire next to it.

Hope this helps my fellow techs and installers we will no longer be using these types of switches.

The client panicked, calling to report that while w**d eating, they had thrown a piece of wire into the condenser coil, which blew a line and released all the refrigerant. This incident occurred at one of their Airbnb properties with incoming renters. Normally, we replace coils instead of plugging them, but to get the system cooling, we made an exception. We removed the aluminum fins, exposed the copper, and brazed the leak. The customer was extremely satisfied, having gotten the issue resolved within 3 hours on a Saturday, ensuring the renters' comfort.

If you have a heat pump and the outdoor unit is producing unusual noises, watch this video to determine if it's merely a defrost cycle. Additionally, ensure there is a gutter or water diversion system installed directly above the unit to prevent water from hitting the fan blades, which can cause freezing or imbalance. Be aware that there is misinformation suggesting the use of auxiliary or emergency heat; however, modern systems are designed to operate in negative degree weather.

This customer was smart to have us check the heat before the cold front arrives. We found 2 failed contactors on the heat kit, a pretty common problem on downflow mobile home systems. We only have a couple of days, folks; don't wait to find out. We will be running 24 hours Saturday and Sunday.
