Tree climber, bucket truck operator and groundman

Rockford, IL – Looking for a skilled tree worker who can climb, operate a bucket and also work on the ground, with a Class B or A CDL preferred.

Compensation is based on experience, hourly wage can be discussed, with owner Tony Soppa. Paid holidays and Blue Cross Blue Shield health insurance. Our employees get a 3% match in an investment program.

Soppa's Tree Service is a small family owned company, just because we are a small business, doesn’t mean we can’t afford to pay an above average competitive wage for the right person.

We are looking for an experienced tree worker, who has experience as a climber, bucket truck operator, that can also work on the ground, with at least 3 years full-time experience, working for a tree company. Must have a valid and a good driving record for the past 2 years. Must be able to operate an aerial lift, log loader, bobcat, stump grinder, chipper, equipment, etc. We use a lot of machines, to make the jobs easier and more efficient.

Must be experienced and familiar with most tree knots and how to rig and lower down large limbs over houses and power lines.

Must be able and be willing to show up on time, 5 days a week. We work around 45 to 55 hours a week on average, April through November. December to March, would be around 40 hours a week. Overtime is usually available for the right person. We pay overtime after 40 hours and you will receive a normal payroll check every week and we pay seven 8 hour paid holidays. You will not be paid as a sub-contractor. Lunch will be provided three times a week.

Must be drug free.

Must have a valid and a clean driving record for the past 2 years. Must be able to operate an aerial lift, bobcat loader, stump grinder, chipper, equipment, etc.

Must be experienced and familiar with most tree knots and how to rig and lower down large limbs over houses and power lines. We will not accept any applications with a personal record of theft.

Must have a clean driving record for the past 2 years. Must be able to operate a bobcat loader, stump grinder, chipper, equipment, etc.

Must be experienced and familiar with most tree knots and how to rig and lower down large limbs over houses and power lines. We will not accept any applications with a record of theft or if you are a registered s*x offender.

Must be able and willing to show up on time, 5 to 6 days a week and to be ready to work 8 to 10 hours a day, on average. Must be drug free.
