Apparently Ann wants a nice gift for our 25th anniversary in July, so I now have 9 hosta for auction over on the Hosta Auctions page. They close Wednesday night from 7:30-9:30. If you want to bid or just watch the fun, you have to join the page. Note that they close every 15 minutes, BUT they close 3 minutes after the last bid so there is almost always chaos at the end of each closing as the time gets extended. These are all on the more rare side/hard to find.

Shipping (US only) is a flat $20, no matter how many you get.

It was a fabulous and fun filled day! Last November I was asked to donate something to a fundraiser for Katie's Cup, our Lutheran coffee shop in downtown Rockford. It was the off season, so I gave a future private garden tour for up to 10 people with a rare hosta for everyone.

Meredith was supposed to bring her group of friends Monday night...storms. So, we rescheduled for Thursday night...bigger storms. So, they came out this morning. It was so lovely to meet this group of friends and share my love of hosta.

I decided to dig up a seedling, divide it into 8 pieces (7 were coming) and let them name it. So, meet GRACEFUL GARNET

This seedling was originally from Mike Vasey. A cross of Armani x Maya Infatuation. It is 3' wide and 22" tall. It has red legs most the way up the petiole and has wavy green leafs, with a twist at the tip.

Then, my oldest was maid of honor in her best friends wedding that happened to be back out at Klehm Arboretum and Botanic Garden so I got to check on the stumpery and see all the hostas growing. When the dancing started I got to skip out and go find the dwarf conifer garden.
