Year-End Reflection on a Productive Year in the Flooring Industry.

This year has provided me with some incredible opportunities for growth and learning through a number of amazing projects. From installing luxury vinyl planks, hardwood, and carpet squares to subfloor repair and restoration, I have had the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects.

I am deeply appreciative of Justin M. Anderson for providing me with the platform to excel in this field. As I look forward to next year, I am optimistic about a prosperous and healthy 2026.

This was another doozy of a Demo! Floor removal was a piece of cake, but this 70's style tile in this homes entry was was rough! Typically, when you install this type of tile to a traditional OSB subfloor, you add a layer of whats known as "DUROCK". This is used to protect the future integrity of your subfloor so the mortar added doesn't adhere to the actual Subfloor. The past installers did not do this 😤 This required some thought, Plus some understanding from the homeowners. The cost difference in totally removing the tile and mortar and replacing the damaged subfloor is substantially more expensive. We decided to level the entryway the best we could, then add some reducers to meet up with the Floor in the rest of the house.

After everything was said and done, Homeowners were very pleased and expressed their gratitude for our hard work and professionalism throughout the process. William Shields

Before and after. This was an interesting one because the original floor looks just fine to the untrained eye. Original floor was a discontinued Stone core Laminate Vinyl. They had issues with seams popping. So we replaced it with a much better solution. A normal Laminate vinyl (without the stone core). Provides flexibility which allows us to work with an imperfect subfloor. William Shieldsl

Tearing out “Glued” down engineered hardwood can be a daunting task and isn’t for the light hearted. Took a little over 4 days to tear out and prep the cement subfloor for its beautiful new engineered Hardwood! William Shields
