How well do you know us? Do you think we will choose Historic or Modern downtown Seattle for a day?
Seattle is planning the remainder of our Flight Day! There is still time for YOU to join us.
Seattle is where our Alaska adventure will begin, and we always fly a day early so we can slow down, settle in, and let the city introduce itself properly.
For us, a Travel Like an Architect™ day means walking as much as possible, noticing what others hurry past, and taking in the character of a place one detail at a time. Seattle is a city that rewards curiosity. The buildings, the waterfront, the market energy, the hills, the views, the weather, it all adds up to a full sensory experience.
We’ll be staying in a downtown hostel recommended by a local friend, in a private room with our own bath but still with the chance to enjoy shared spaces and the personality of the place. That feels very Travel Like an Architect™ to us: practical, flexible, and open to the experience.
On our first day, we hope to walk to Pike Place Market, explore the neighborhood, and enjoy a nice dinner near the water before turning in. We embark on the ship tomorrow, so we don't want to waste a minute of time. If the city cooperates, we’ll spend our time looking up, looking around, and trying not to get too distracted by the architecture and wander into traffic while we admire it all.
Seattle is not just a departure point. It is the first chapter of the journey. Comfortable shoes are a must!
