Today was another productive day in the garden! 🌱💚

I added 100% aromatic cedar mulch around my watermelon, cantaloupe, and spaghetti squash so the fruits have a cleaner place to rest as they continue growing. 🍉🍈

I also spent some time pruning my cucumber plants, watermelon vines, and spaghetti squash. Snipping away some of those extra leaves helps the plants focus more energy on producing healthy fruits and vegetables instead of supporting unnecessary growth.

The bees were definitely clocked in and hard at work today! 🐝😂 I thought I was about to get stung at one point, but thankfully we worked together and respected each other's space. They pollinated while I gardened!

To top it all off, I harvested some fresh broccoli and got it stored away in the freezer for later. Nothing beats being able to enjoy food you've grown yourself. 🥦✨

Every day I'm learning something new, making progress, and watching this garden come to life.

Just a little garden happy dance today! 💃🏽🌱

I spent some time doing a little rearranging in the garden because my runners have decided they all want to grow together. 😅 Definitely something I’ll plan differently next season!

The watermelons are coming along (I even spotted a baby watermelon 🍉), the cucumbers are producing, and my zucchini are popping. With these temperatures heating up, I also put down sulfur around the garden since snakes will start looking for cooler places to hide. I added a little pest control while I was at it too.

And before anybody asks… no, I’m not a plant expert yet! 😂 Some of my petunias are struggling, but that’s all part of the gardening journey. We learn, we grow, and we keep planting!

🌱✨ Garden Update! ✨🌱

The garden has been teaching me something new every day! My corn is up after just two weeks, the beets are sprouting, and the cantaloupe is thriving. I even planted a grapevine—now comes the patience part while I wait a year or two for grapes! 🍇

My tomatoes are growing beautifully, the cucumbers are climbing, and the onions are doing amazing. The broccoli has gotten HUGE, and my okra may be a little too cozy, so I’ll be deciding whether to separate them or let them grow together.

One of the coolest things I’ve learned is that my lettuce started producing seeds, which means I can save and replant them for future harvests! 🌿

Every season brings lessons, wins, and a little trial and error—but that’s all part of the journey. 💕🌸

Today was one of those wholesome garden moments I had to share 🌱💚

My neighbor Ms. Claudia told me she had a few plants for me, so of course I followed right behind her car to go get them 😂 Babyyyy… when I got there, I was AMAZED. Her garden was BEAUTIFUL and full of healthy plants everywhere. You can tell she plants with love and experience.

And when I say she blessed me with some GOOD plants… she blessed me for real 🥹🌿 I brought them home and put them straight in the ground instantly because listen — those babies were too pretty to sit around waiting 😭

I just love moments like this. Gardening really brings people together. It’s more than growing food and flowers… it’s community, wisdom, sharing, and pouring into each other 🌸

Thank you Ms. Claudia 💕
The Kayla in Bloom garden got a little more special today.
