Pacino Gold sunflowers $10 pot
Pacino Gold is a very attractive, branched, pollen-free dwarf sunflower. Its height is 12 to 16 inches. The plant is covered in bright yellow flowers 5 inches across with a dark center. Although it does not produce pollen, therefore safe for allergy sufferers, it nevertheless provides essential nectar for bees, pollinators and butterflies
It earns its space by producing multiple flowers per plant that open in succession, giving a long season of usable stems. We see it form a sturdy central stem with side branches that fill in quickly, so even when the first flowers are cut, new blooms follow. In midsummer, the plant carries a mix of open flowers and developing buds, keeping the display consistent across the bed.
The branching habit provides volume without the need for staking, and the gold tone reads clearly in both beds and bouquets. The stems are strong enough to handle regular harvests without collapsing.
