🎨 Puttin' the finish on it with Foothill Painting & Drywall! 👢

Silver Lasso gratitude goes out to Foothill Painting & Drywall for standing behind Compassion Planet's Boots & BBQ 2026. This crew has been finishing homes across Placer, Sacramento and beyond for years — the texture, the trim, the coat of paint that turns a jobsite into someplace you'd actually want to live.

We think about that a lot. Plenty of young people come to us framed up and structurally sound, and what they've been missing is somebody willing to do the finish work — the patience, the second coat, the details nobody sees but everybody feels.

Cookie Land is sending dessert to Compassion Planet's Boots & BBQ 2026, and we couldn't be happier about it — because no proper BBQ ends without something sweet in your hand.

There's something about a hand-decorated cookie that a factory can't fake. Somebody sat down and made that, on purpose, for you. That's a small thing and it isn't a small thing at all — plenty of the young people we serve grew up without anyone ever doing something like that just for them.

Four decades of grantmaking across 26 Northern California counties, and Sierra Health Foundation still chose to plant some of it right here, as a Silver Lasso sponsor of Compassion Planet's Boots & BBQ 2026.

What we admire is how they define health. Not just a check-up — whether a young person has a roof, a paycheck, a trade in their hands and somebody in their corner. That's the same math we do every day with aged-out foster youth and at-risk young adults in Placer and Sacramento counties.

Bell peppers: green & red 🫑

Cucumbers: American slicing, Lemon, Armenian
Squash: Zucchini, Butternut & Patty Pan (almost ready for harvest)
Eggplant : globe & Japanese 🍆
Swiss Chard & green chard 🥬

We're honored to have been recognized at this week's City of Roseville Grants Advisory Commission meeting, where Scott our Executive Director accepted a grant award on behalf of the young people we serve.

Thank you to the Grants Advisory Commission and the City of Roseville for investing in at-risk youth in our community. This support helps us continue walking alongside young people as they build stability, confidence, and a future they're excited about.
