Job Title
Asphalt Project Manager
Job Description
The Project Manager is responsible for all aspects of the project being completed on schedule, and within budget to the satisfaction of the client. The position is also responsible for monitoring and maintain job costs.
Description of Duties
This includes, but is not limited to the following:
• Develops and communicates effective plans and schedules for constructing the project with the Superintendent and Project Team.
• Ensures construction employed will maximize production, ensure quality, minimize costs and promotes safety.
• Ensures all work performed, and products/materials used meets the LHC standard of workmanship, and complies with contractual standards/specifications.
• Manages project cost and overall profitability of the project.
• Maintains excellent client satisfaction level though consistent communication and timely response to client concerns.
• Implements and monitors LHC Safety Program, including the coordination of project activities to ensure compliance with all government regulatory guideline and agencies.
• Maintain a daily record of all significant project facts, events, and conditions.
• Manages punch list and closeout process to ensure nonconforming work is corrected and resolved to the satisfaction of all parties.
• Perform other tasks assigned or deemed necessary by supervisor.
Education
• B.S. in Construction Management, related major, or equivalent preferred.
Work Experience:
• Minimum of 5 years of heavy construction and/or asphalt paving experience, with at least one year construction supervisory experience preferred.
• General knowledge and understanding of various safety and compliance including OSHA regulations.
• Experience with HCSS HeavyJob software preferred.
Skills Preferred
• Excellent interpersonal skills when communicating with Clients/Owners, subcontractors, vendors, and internal employees.
• Strong work ethic and high degree of professionalism.
• Must be able to adjust to a flexible work schedule.
• Valid driver’s license required with Safe driving record.
• Ability to work well independently and participate as the leader of project teams as assigned.
• Self-motivated with the ability to quickly learn new procedures and processes.
• The ability to respond quickly and effectively to ever-changing situations.
• Proficient with computer programs such Microsoft Office, and similar programs.
• Highly developed organizational and planning skills, time management skills and written/oral communications skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Able to work on multiple tasks and manage multiple projects.
