We’re proud to share that Krystal McGee has been elected Vice President of the Association for Learning Environments (A4LE), Northeast Region.

Krystal has served on the A4LE Northeast Board for the past seven years as Secretary/Treasurer, demonstrating consistent leadership, dedication, and service. This election marks the beginning of a four year leadership commitment, during which she will serve as Vice President, President Elect, President, and Past President.

This honor recognizes Krystal’s deep commitment to learners as an Accredited Learning Environments Planner (ALEP) and her passion for advancing next generation learning environments. Her leadership reflects a steadfast focus on the people who bring these environments to life and those who use them every day.

We were proud to join Baltimore City Public Schools, state and city leaders, the school and community for the ribbon cutting of the Early Learning Center at Maree G. Farring Elementary/Middle School in Baltimore on March 6.

The new annex building designed by SEI includes the renovation of a historic church into a impactful multi-purpose space and a new two-story instructional building designed to support the school’s youngest learners.

It was an honor to help create a welcoming environment that supports early childhood education while celebrating the history of the community.

We are proud to share that SEI Architects has received a Learning By Design Outstanding Project Award for Beach Elementary School!

As noted by the jury, “This project successfully navigates a tight, topographically challenging site with a cohesive design that honors local history and landscape. Thoughtful theming through ecological zones, graphics, and wayfinding creates harmonious, age-appropriate interiors without feeling forced. Safety and security are well addressed through CPTED principles, making it a thoughtful and well-executed school design.”

We are grateful to the Beach Elementary community and our project partners for the opportunity to bring this vision to life and create a place where 'Beach Babies' can learn, grow, and thrive.

The holiday season at SEI Architects was full of cheer, connection, and giving back. From a festive holiday party at Pistarro’s to a spirited white elephant gift exchange packed with puzzles and Legos, we leaned into the fun. We shared a potluck lunch that highlighted favorite dishes from the many cultures that make up our team, and we wrapped up the season by supporting our community through a food drive benefiting Gaithersburg HELP.
