With years of experience in wallcoverings, flooring, finish selections, and project coordination, I understand both the creative side of design and what it takes to bring a space together in the real world.

The part nobody sees in the finished photo. 👀

Today’s project turned into a serious prep day. Old plaster meant rebuilding damaged corners, reinforcing weak areas, patching, feathering and getting these walls back into shape before the decorative finish even begins.

This is why prep matters—especially in older homes. You can’t get a beautiful finish without giving it a solid foundation first.

Tomorrow we start bringing the vision to life. 💚
More to come…

She went a more muted sponge effect with metallic finish instead of marble stone.. this is also why you show options on real dry wall chunks for client to tell how bold they wanna go. 💛

Starting today on one of those projects I’ve been way too excited about. 💚

This gorgeous historic built-in already has so much character, so instead of covering it up, I’m designing everything around it.

The plan is a custom hand-painted green marble finish on the surrounding walls, then a more intentional, curated approach inside the cabinet so the original woodwork and her collection can really shine.

🤡 I’m especially excited to work her Emmett Kelly clown collection into the final styling in a way that feels collected, balanced and designed — not crowded.

This one is going to be all about honoring what’s already beautiful while giving the whole space a stronger point of view.

More to come. 👀✨

🍃 This week’s project: a moody green statement wall with layered texture and movement. Not finished yet, but I had to share a little sneak peek.

Exterior Design Consulting in Progress ✨

Bringing new life to a beautiful historic home while honoring the character that makes it special.

We’re currently working through exterior color placement, architectural accents, curb appeal, landscaping flow, and a new carport/drive concept designed to feel like it has always belonged to the home.

The goal: preserve the history, improve the function, and give her a fresh new chapter.

This is the part of design I love—seeing what a space could be before the work ever begins.

18 years later… and I got to walk through this house again today. 🤎

Nearly two decades ago, I had the opportunity to help the new owner restore this beautiful historic home.
I worked with the owner to hand-select more than 10 different wallpapers throughout the house, choosing patterns that complemented the original 40 year old paper, woodwork, stained glass, architecture, and period of the home.

I then parentered with Nikki Henson Jones and owner and we all installed the papers as part of a restoration that ultimately helped the property receive its historic certification.

Today, I stepped back inside for the first time in years...

And the wallpaper is still there. Still beautiful. Still doing exactly what it was chosen to do—feel like it belongs to the house rather than something that was simply added to it.

There is something incredibly special about seeing work you did 18 years ago still being cared for and appreciated. Trends come and go, but thoughtful design that respects the character of a home has staying power.

This is why I love wallpaper. It isn't just decoration. In the right space, it becomes part of the architecture, part of the restoration, and part of the home's story.

And apparently, I've been telling stories through walls for a lot longer than I realized. ❤️

🧻 WALLPAPER TIME!!! 🍄

After all that prep and paint, we finally got to the fun part!

⭐ Clean the wallpaper walls one more time.
Dust is the enemy here. Make sure the surface is clean, smooth and completely dry before paper ever touches the wall.

⭐ Create a level reference line.
I found where I wanted my design to begin and used a level to create my starting line. Never assume the wall, ceiling or corner is perfectly straight. We base the paper off the level line — not the house. 😂

⭐ Cut the first sheet and establish the pattern.
I cut my first drop, leaving about 1.5" of waste at both the top and bottom so I had room to make clean final cuts.

⭐ Line the first sheet up with the level line.
That first drop sets the stage for everything after it, so take your time here. Get it straight, smooth it into place and make sure the design is sitting where you want it.

⭐ Prep the next sheets and pattern match.
Before hanging each drop, I matched the pattern to the previous sheet and cut it with the same extra waste at the top and bottom. This keeps the pattern flowing continuously across the wall.
⭐ Smooth each sheet as you go.

Work from the center outward, gently smoothing the paper and pushing out air pockets while keeping your pattern and seams aligned.
⭐ Set and lightly roll the seams.

Once everything is lined up, make sure those seams are laying flat and secure without overworking them or pushing paste out from underneath.

⭐ Cut everything in.
Trim the excess paper along the ceiling, baseboards, corners and around anything mounted on the wall for those nice clean finished edges.

⭐ WIPE IT DOWN!!!
Clean excess paste as you work, paying special attention to seams, trim and surrounding surfaces. Don't leave today's paste to become tomorrow's problem. 😂

And just like that… wallpaper is up! 🙌🌿

Next comes the reset and styling, aka the part where the whole room finally comes together. ❤️🏡

✨ SHOW ME THE SPACE YOU WANT REFRESHED. ✨

Drop a photo in the comments of the room, wall, corner, entryway — whatever space is driving you a little crazy.

I’ll give you the top 3 changes I’d make first to give it an instant refresh
It might be:

• a better paint color
• wallpaper or an accent treatment
• moving what you already own
• changing scale or placement
• lighting
• styling/decor
• or one thing that’s throwing the whole room off

You do not always need a full remodel to make a space feel completely different.
