Earlier this week we held our Cooking for a Cause programming where 20% of ticket sales from a selected cooking class and 20% of all retail sales of that day get donated to a local charity or organization doing remarkable things and making a meaningful impact right here in our community. For this edition of Cooking for a Cause we partnered with Ozark Slow Food as the beneficiary because of the work they do in our community.
Ozark Slow Food is a local nonprofit dedicated to celebrating good, clean, and fair food. Embracing a farm-to-table philosophy, they believe food should be fresh, high quality, and taste good; food should be produced in a clean way that does not harm the environment, animal well-being, or human health; and that producers should receive a fair compensation for their work. We are proud to have partnered with them in their efforts to promote localvore living in our community.
Thanks to Ozark Slow Food and our very own Carman, Director of Food Procurement, for helping us source ingredients from the following 11 farms in NWA for the Cooking for a Cause cooking class:
Dirty Apron Bakery
Rocky Comfort Natural Farm
Middle Fork Farms
Across the Creek Farm
Chickadee Farm
Lee Produce
Omnom
Sunny Acres Farm
Two Birds Farm
Rivercrest Orchard
The Fresh Greens Project
