Every now and then a project comes through the shop that’s more than just metal—it’s a piece of history.
A customer brought us a brass shell casing that had been fired from the USCGC Waesche and asked if we could transform it into a custom drinking mug. We were honored to take on the challenge.
We hand-hammered the USCGC Waesche emblem into solid brass and mounted it to the mug, then custom fabricated the handle. To finish it off, we hand-formed and hammered brass to resemble rope, paying tribute to the ship’s maritime heritage.
