Deodar Cedar (Cedarus Deodara)

This tree is native to Pakistan, India, Nepal, Tibet, and Afghanistan growing in altitudes of 5-10,000 feet. It is known to be milled for use in cellars, structural material due to the wood being rot resistant and durable, essential oils and even used on animals for its anti-fungal and insect repellant properties.

South/ South-East facing aspects are the most prone to Wildfire spreading. It is due to their sometimes dense brush and forestry fuels that burn quick and hot. The best way to mitigate this issue is to increase the amount of space between the fuels while minimize the latter fuels/understory. Especially next to your structures the amount and types of fuels is important.

From Hazard Tree Removal, Tree Removal, to Fruit Tree Pruning, last week was a good week. Thanks to all who gave me the opportunity to serve.

The Hazard Tree was an Oak that was leaning into a neighboring Oak. It overhung the power line to the house and its pump house.
Note the blanket of Ivy the Hazard Tree has. This is ultimately what killed/rotted the roots.
