Myth Buster: "Home Bakers Don't Need a License" 🍪🥯🥞🍰🥞🎂🍞🥐🥪👨‍🍳

Think home bakers can just open up shop without the state knowing? Not in New York!
While we don't need a commercial kitchen, every home baker selling to the public must be officially registered and listed with NY Department of Agriculture & Markets as an approved Home Processor. Aka cottage baker.

Here is what that means at a glance:
®️We are Registered: The state tracks our business, our social media, confirms our water source is safe, and holds us to strict safety standards.

Our Menus are Limited: We can only sell shelf-stable items.

🚫 The Prohibited List: Anything requiring refrigeration—like cheesecakes, cream fillings, pumpkin pies, or even banana bread—is illegal to make at home. Those require a fully inspected commercial kitchen.

👨‍🍳When you buy from a registered NY home baker, you aren't just supporting a dream—you're buying from someone doing it legally and safely.

This list is open to the public! Go check it out! 👀

Unfortunately the state does not give us this fancy certificate, they just put a little approved signature on our application paper and assign us a Processor number. So I made the certificate myself to display on my stand! The signature is official!
