ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
• Commercial painting experience with 18” roller and strict deadlines preferred.
• Apply paint to surfaces including dry wall, walls, floors, doors, and cabinets.
• Mix, match, and apply paint, varnish, shellac, enamel, and other finishes.
• Scrape, sandpaper, prime, or seal surfaces prior to painting.
• Clean walls to ensure proper adherence.
• Cover surfaces with cloth or plastic to ensure protection.
• Fill cracks, holes, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers, using caulking guns or putty knives.
• Prepares work to be processed by reviewing work requests; resolving questions; prioritizing projects.
• Remove fixtures such as pictures, doorknobs, lamps, and electric switch covers prior to painting.
• Apply several coats according to paint directions.
• Tape off areas when needed.
• Apply touchups or second coats.
• Remove paint splatters when finished.
• Operates, cleans, and maintains all painting equipment including brush, roll, sprayers, etc.
• Work on ladders or scaffolding to reach high ceilings or walls.
• All other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Driver’s License required.
• One year as a painter in a residential and a commercial, industrial operations setting, both interior and exterior.
• 10 hour OSHA safety class completed
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong organizational and communication skills required.
