Getting in the grass to put my beds to sleep over the winter. I should have taken an after pic. The pile was rather large.

Reclaiming the overgrown garden. Rough year, bad crop, time to try again. Get the beds prepped and blanketed for a long winters nap. Anybody in the Rome area wants to donate some leaves I’ll be more than happy to haul them off.

Well, the garden beds were under water this morning. Hope a little bit of wind keeps up to help dry them out. There is ground visible but they are still SOAKED.

Trying to get the cucs off the ground. The front row is bush so I’m going to see how they do before I stake them.

It’s been a wild ride since last I posted. Squash bugs got at my melons and zucchini. Left me a fair amount of yellow squash. Okra is doing fine. My late season tomatoes never made it. Pumpkins, well, squash bugs. I’ve got a pumpkin plant for tiny pumpkins on the deck and it’s doing well.
This guy is watching over my okra.

The cantaloupes are coming along nicely and I found some crenshaws finally. Watermelons are good but not ready just yet.
