Umpqua Sand & Gravel was started in 1965 by Frank Guido and Rex Garriott. Brothers, Patrick and Kelly Guido, purchased the business from their father, Frank, in 1987, and 20 years later Patrick retired. Kelly took over the business and his two sons, Wes and Brant have joined in the family tradition. Being a family owned and operated business is something that the Guido family has taken pride in, and giving back is just as important. Umpqua Sand & Gravel employs 40+ employees and supports numerous businesses in the community as well as generously donating to community events and individual’s projects and associations. Over the last 10 years, Umpqua Sand & Gravel has given back nearly ½ a million dollars in donations to the community. Business has grown over the years expanding from the original mine and sand and gravel operation of Umpqua Sand and Gravel to include: Concrete Service of Roseburg, our concrete ready-mix division; Concrete Connections, our retail store front for concrete supplies, tools and hardware; Umpqua Quarries, the quarry rock pit off of Lookingglass Road supplies an entire crushed rock line of products; Umpqua Aggregate Resources is the newest addition on Del Rio Road, providing asphalt to pavers. Additionally, the asphalt plant is portable, and will be able to move to other areas for work in and around central and southern Oregon.
