One of the best parts of kitchen gardening? It doesn’t stop in winter.

These turnips were planted about 60 days ago, harvested in January, and cooked just like mashed potatoes—simple and so good.

Because turnips are a cool-season crop, I’m planting another round now.

Year-round gardening is possible when you plant the right crops at the right time.
