This year, I left all the tiny spiders, and their webs, on my tomato plants. It's the first time that I saw no aphids attacking my tomatoes. Success!

This year's gardening experiment was a success! I left the tiny, little spiders that build their webs in my tomato plants alone.

And they did their job. No aphids! None. Nadda.

Delicious cornbread!

1 1/2 cups flour
3/4 cup cornmeal
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/3 cup sugar
1 TBLS honey
1/2 cup butter (melted & cooled)
1 cup buttermilk
1 egg

Mix all the dry ingredients together. Whisk the sugar, cooled butter, honey, egg, and buttermilk together. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Place the batter into a 9 x 9 butter-greased pan. Bake at 375° for 22-26 minutes. Use a toothpick to check doneness. So yummy!!!

In the cookbook, The Reluctant Cook's Cookbook, coming in September, is a rather easy recipe for enchiladas. Is it mother's recipe? Well, no, but it's so much better than any restaurant's and 100 times better than any takeout. It doesn't take very long to make; and makes plenty to feed your family, or for leftovers.
