When I clicked "Share" for the pantry post yesterday I already knew this was gonna happen. I got messages asking for healthy snack options to serve guests staying over.
Number 1 point you need to note when you're staying at my house: you are on a FUN VACATION. There's no dieting here. This is your break away from steamed broccoli and baked asparagus. 😂
I serve a healthy breakfast and usually Desi lunch and dinner. (Adding desi breakfast would be too much desiness 😱) When guests arrive from the airport though, I like to give the healthy option of a grazing board. Looks colorful and appealing, light to snack on, a variety of options to choose from. Fruits, cheese, crackers, hummus, veggies, ranch and nuts are all great options to have on your grazing board. Serve this with herbal tea and it creates for a warm welcome!
Have you tried making a cheese board before? Let me know in the comments!

Guest prep for Thanksgiving week is currently in full swing! I like to stock up my pantry with snacks and fridge with fruits right before my guests arrive so they always have something to nibble on. Taking out snacks from their boxes and lining them up gives an organized feel with easy access.
Family taking time off work to stay with us is a blessing, and I like for them to feel like they're on vacation at our home. Snacks in the pantry and some in a tray in the guest room makes it feel like a hotel snack bar (without the exorbitant prices lol). Simple ways to make your guests feel welcome!
What do you keep for your guests to snack on in between meals? Let me know if you're hosting for Thanksgiving or Winter break! I might do a short series on guest prep :)

Yesterday in stories I showed you how I'm moving on from blues to a new color in my home - emerald green! Blues have become my comfort zone and I wanted a new challenge. This week I'll be completing my guest bedroom + study area by incorporating 2-3 more items to complete the look of green and gold accents. Follow me along to Home Goods and Michael's this week to find the finishing touches!
Have you made bold color choices in any of the rooms in your home? Let me know which color you chose!
Chair, desk and sunburst mirror are all from !

Just did a Back to School story hop yesterday about the pantry and lunches! Making a list of tried and tested menu items can really help speed up the process of deciding what to pack for lunch. I'm all about sticking with food choices that my son is sure to complete, rather than trying out new items and experimenting with a variety.
What are some lunch items that are your kids' absolute favorite? My favorite place to shop for quick and healthy frozen options is ! I've tried a couple of things from there so far, and will be checking out more in the near future iA!

It's been a while since I did a check in post! How has summer been going?? Have you been traveling or at home? What activities are the kids taking part in? We've been busy with my family over the past month and things have finally started to slow down a bit. After hearing my son say "I'm bored" one too many times, I finally enrolled him in...wait for it...art classes! Art is his passion, he draws in his sketchbook all day, and this is something he really wanted. Going against our culture, I wanted him to build on his creativity at a nice studio nearby. Looking forward to taking him to his first class soon iA!
What classes have your kids gone to? I need all the options because I'm so new to extra curricular activities for kids!

Every year around this time I feel nostalgic about my trip to 4 years ago. The feelings you get when you first see the Kabah, the peace in Madina, witnessing thousands of people around you all with the same goals, and the life lessons you learn from the hardships within those 2 weeks...it's just indescribable.
Making sure you're well prepared for this experience of a lifetime is important. I made a 3 part series about what to pack for Hajj on my blog and have linked it in my bio. Do check it out if you're going or tag your friends who are going for Hajj this year iA!
Have you been for Hajj yet? Tell me about your experience and some essentials you packed for it! Let's help some future Haajis out iA :)

It's the middle of the year and I'm curious...those of you who use planners, whether physical or on your phones, are you still using them half way through the year?
In summer the use of my planner decreases since there's not much structure to our days. Also have family in town for summer and plans are made spontaneously. I'm currently just using the planner for appointments, invites, story hops and trips. It helps to keep the planner in an area where you can clearly see it and have stationery nearby.
Let me know how you plan ahead, or do you take it one day at a time?

Hope you caught my stories yesterday of what I keep on my desk! Here's a break down:
1) A mug with pens, pencils, scissors etc for easy access.
2) An organizer system for mail or other paperwork. I also keep stamps in here.
3) My planner!
4) A box with a lid where my husband can keep all of his paperwork so that the desk remains clear
5) Coasters so the wood on the desk doesn't get messed up
6) A couple of decor items to make the space feel cozy!
7) The drawers in the desk contain my son's homework stationery!
I got asked a lot where I bought everything from in my DMs. It was tagged in my previous post as always, but I'll tag it again in this one!
Let me know what you keep on your work desk! The bare minimum, things you enjoy, or a bit too much? :)

Coming up on today's story hop: Work Desk Minimalism.
I find it interesting how different people define minimalism differently. For some, it may be just keeping their laptop on their desk and nothing else. Some might add a few plants for a fresh look, and some may keep a couple of decor items.
What does minimalism mean to you, and how is it important? Let me know in the comments, and find out my answer in the story hop at 12:30PM EST :)

A little belated, but we had our Eid picnic this past weekend Alhumdulillah! It was quite exciting to try something new and have the session at a park instead of the Masjid hall for a change!
We made the reserved pavilion look a little festive with Eid Mubarak decor and party favors from .co.uk and . Granted, the kids were a little confused as to why we are celebrating 2 weeks later 😂, but they enjoyed the decor and activities nonetheless!
Having the party at the park was fun, but a couple of things were problematic, like no water supply for our mini pools (had to fill buckets with tap water), a few steep areas around, and the heat was a little crazy. Lesson learned: check out the park thoroughly for these things before booking a venue! And hold picnics in Spring not Summer lol. All of the organizers were traveling or busy with family events so we didn't get a chance to do much research beforehand.
The water activities we did were a HIT and I'll be sharing those on the next post iA! What do you think of outdoor picnics in summer? In my opinion, the kids looked happy so it was a win :)
