We recently installed this outdoor hostess stand at Michael's Harborside in Newburyport, Ma. Using a refurbished center console and a slab of new england granite we were easily able to blend this into the old entrance. Make sure to stop in this summer for a lobster roll and some live music at the Landing Bar overlooking the Merrimac River.

Reclaim your meadows, fields, and property with our brush hog services.

Brush hogging (also known as bush hogging) is a critical maintenance practice for keeping meadows healthy and preventing them from naturally transitioning into forests. By using heavy-duty rotary cutters, landowners can manage dense vegetation that standard mowers cannot handle.

The primary benefits include:

Preventing Reforestation: Regular cutting stops shrubs and small trees from shading out native grasses and wildflowers, preserving the meadow ecosystem.

Invasive Species Control: It suppresses the growth of aggressive weeds and invasive brush (like autumn olive or multiflora rose) by cutting them before they can flower and drop seeds.

Soil Enrichment: Unlike bulldozing, brush hogging leaves roots intact to prevent erosion. The shredded vegetation acts as a natural mulch, returning nutrients to the soil.

Pest Reduction: Clearing tall, thick grass eliminates breeding grounds for ticks, rodents, and snakes.

Improved Forage Quality: For livestock owners, it removes old, woody growth and encourages the emergence of fresh, more palatable forage.

Fire Prevention: Regular maintenance reduces the buildup of dry "fuel" that can lead to wildfires during dry seasons.

Nutrient Distribution: In pastures, it helps break up manure piles, distributing nitrogen and phosphorus more evenly and preventing "zones of repugnance" where livestock refuse to graze.

The amount of work that has gone into this property the past two years is mind blowing. Full spread coming soon! Stay tuned!
