I took a chance and planted some (after frost) seeds even though we aren’t “clear” of a frost.

And not only did I take a chance on the weather but also on my chickens to not eat them.🐓

I ordered a chicken treat pack from seed therapy, not knowing where I was going to plant.

Well when the chickens tried to dig up the potatoes I knew the free ranging days for a little while were over😅

So I fenced off a little curve in the chicken run and just scattered seeds all over hoping the chickens won’t find a way in.

Let’s see how it goes🤪

It’s been CRAZY busy on the farm!!

We have picked lots of asparagus, planted some pollinator mix, got some baby chicks, doctoring baby calves, and spending lots of time outside!!

The more time I spend outside the less time I am inside, so we are catching up on ALL the laundry.

💐FIRST DAY OF SPRING 💐

👩🏻‍🌾 Garden is all cleaned up and ready for fresh compost

🐴Matrix is all brushed out, I’m sure he has more to shed

🥖 I am constantly baking bread!!

🐓The hens are laying amazing and I always have some fresh eggs available!

🐐The goats have been staying in their pen. They haven’t learned that cars are not a play gym😅

🐮 Baby cows are being born left and right

🪴Plants and seeds will be planted SOON

💐Fower garden is getting prepared and fresh compost next week. I can’t wait for YOU ALL to enjoy it!!

Coffee, cardboard, compost is what my day is consisting of.

This weather has me ready to get everything in the ground, but I have yet to complete my “no dig” garden.

I am experimenting with different gardening styles this year to find what works best for me.

Some plants will be in raised beds, no dig, containers, and sow direct into the Nebraska soil.

I can’t wait to see how it all turns out. And praying for an excellent produce this year!

sometimes the chickens roost in their coop

and the other times they are roosting on the playset

most the time i let them but the other time i carry every chicken one by one to the roost

this was right before the snow a couple nights ago so yes i carried all these ladies to the coop

these hens are pretty spoiled

thrift store score!!

i found these boots for only $60 and they are brand new $190🤯🤯

this is why i love thrift stores.

why pay full price when you can spend a little extra time searching and pay LESS!!

lucky for you guys they are a size 7, and i am a size 8.

i for sure thought i could feet my feet into them, and i did.

but then my feet were aching from being squashed.

these snickerdoodle discard cookies are a HIT!!

not as good as the first batch maybe because i had little helpers this time.

with little helpers the right amount of stuff may not get put in.

no telling with them.

maybe they weren’t like the first batch because i eyeballed double the recipe🤪

i’ll blame it on my helpers.

they are still amazingly delicious though!!
