Heavy storms just rolled through our area! ⛈️🏡

If your home was in the path of today’s thunderstorms, now is a great time to schedule a complimentary storm assessment with Smithrock Roofing.

Storm damage isn’t always as obvious as missing shingles or water pouring into your living room. High winds and heavy rain can lift, crease, or loosen shingles and compromise your roofing system without leaving an immediate sign inside your home, especially if you have an older roof!

A small problem today can become a much bigger one later.
Slow, active leaks can quietly allow moisture into your roof decking and attic insulation for weeks or even months before that first water spot finally appears on your ceiling.

Don’t wait for the damage to become obvious.

If you were in the path of today’s storms, give Smithrock Roofing a call and let our team take a look. We’ll inspect your roof, document what we find, and give you a straightforward assessment of its condition.

Big news from Smithrock Roofing! 🇺🇸

Our Marketing Manager, Taylor, will be leaving Smithrock Roofing in 2027 to pursue his goal of serving in the U.S. Army.

While we’ll definitely be sad to see him go, we couldn’t think of a better reason to lose a great employee. We’re proud of him, excited for what’s ahead, and grateful for everything he’s poured into Smithrock during his time here.

With the new year only months away, we’re officially beginning the search for the next person to take the reins of Smithrock Roofing’s marketing.

This isn’t just a social media position. We’re looking for someone creative, organized, driven, and ready to take ownership of a growing brand. From content creation and graphic design to campaigns, community involvement, analytics, and overall marketing strategy, this role has the opportunity to make a real impact.

Big shoes to fill. Big opportunity for the right person.

Think you might be a good fit or know somebody who would be? Send us a message or share this post with them! 🇺🇸🏠

You probably saw his birthday post—Meet Patrick! 😎🔥

When he isn't working, he enjoys playing golf and lacrosse and hanging with the boys™. He also loves pretending he's still 21 and seeing how long it takes his body to remind him that he isn't anymore!

Everyone say hi! 👋

Smithrock Roofing is built on integrity - We won't sell you a replacement we think you don't need. However, there are many factors that decide whether you should consider replacement or repair for your roof. 🏡

Not every roof problem means you need a brand-new roof. Sometimes, the right repair can correct the issue, stop a leak, and extend the life of your existing roofing system for years. In other situations, continuing to repair an aging or deteriorating roof can become a cycle of spending money on temporary fixes when replacement would make more sense in the long run.

So how do you know which direction to take? 🧐

One of the biggest factors is the age of the roof. If your roof is relatively young and the surrounding shingles are still in good condition, isolated damage from a storm, fallen limb, flashing issue, or pipe boot may be a great candidate for repair. If the roof is already approaching the end of its expected service life, however, repairing one area may not address problems developing elsewhere.

We also look closely at the extent of the damage. A few missing or damaged shingles are very different from widespread wind damage, significant granule loss, cracking, deterioration, or multiple areas of concern. The more widespread the issue becomes, the more important it is to consider the overall condition of the roofing system rather than focusing on one spot.

Another major factor is where the problem is coming from. Not every leak is caused by the shingles themselves. Water can enter around pipe penetrations, flashing, chimneys, walls, vents, valleys, or other transitions in the roof. Finding the actual source matters because replacing an entire roof isn't always necessary to solve a localized problem.

The repair history of the roof matters too. If you're calling a roofer every year to address another leak or another section of shingles, those repair costs can begin adding up. At some point, replacement may provide better value and more peace of mind than continuing to patch an increasingly worn roofing system.

We also consider whether a repair can be completed in a way that will actually last. Our goal isn't to make a repair simply because it's technically possible. We want to know whether that repair is likely to provide a dependable solution. Sometimes the surrounding materials are too brittle, deteriorated, or compromised for a repair to be the responsible recommendation.

On the other hand, we don't believe homeowners should be pressured into replacing a perfectly serviceable roof because of one small problem.

That's where an honest inspection matters.

When Smithrock Roofing evaluates your roof, we're looking at the entire system—the condition of the shingles, flashing, penetrations, ventilation, visible damage, signs of previous repairs, and the overall remaining life of the roof.

Then we'll walk you through what we find.

If a repair makes sense, we'll tell you.

If replacement is the better long-term option, we'll explain why.

And if your roof doesn't need either one right now, we'll tell you that too. 💙
