I might just wait here a little bit. 😊

Some gardens have a way of making time slow down. The blooms, the buzzing bees, the peaceful paths—it’s hard to leave when everything feels this beautiful.

Sometimes the best part of a garden isn’t the work… it’s simply sitting still and enjoying it. 🌸🦋💚

This week was filled with activities and fun with our little garden club summer program at the nursery and a quick class at the Atkins Centennial Library summer program about pollinators and planting activity. As a former teacher, education is my favorite part of the nursery business. Yes, I love plants, but teaching adults and future gardeners is a passion. I love spreading the knowledge (which I still have more to learn) and ensuring that the love of gardening continues to our next generation.

Ladybugs are tiny but mighty! 🐞

These tiny garden helpers can eat up to 50 aphids a day, while their larvae may consume even more! Over a lifetime, one ladybug can eat thousands of garden pests. If you spot one in your garden, give it a warm welcome—it’s working hard to protect your plants naturally. 🌿

Today, we explored the parts of a plant, the function/job of each part. We explored different types of plants and how their parts were/looked different. Then they planted sunflowers had a quick snack while I talked about how to care for their planted seeds so their sprout. It’s so fun. Check out the website for more dates through July. One of the best lessons I’ve learned is that a garden doesn’t have to be planted in straight rows or filled with only vegetables.

Nature rarely grows in neat lines. Mixing flowers, herbs, and vegetables creates a healthier, more resilient garden. Pollinator flowers attract bees and beneficial insects, herbs can help confuse pests, and diverse plantings often reduce the need for sprays.

Instead of striving for perfection, I focus on creating a garden that works with nature. A little wildness can be a beautiful thing. 🌻🐝🌿
