One of the best parts of gardening is realizing how the harvest changes from month to month, and every few weeks something new starts showing up 🌿
🍓 In May, I usually think of cool-season crops and early treats like spinach, peas, radishes, lettuce, asparagus, and strawberries
🥒 By June, the garden starts shifting and you begin seeing more cucumbers, zucchini, beans, beets, and blueberries
🍅 July is when things really start feeling abundant with tomatoes, peppers, corn, peaches, blackberries, and more
🧺 I always say local and in-season produce usually tastes better because it hasn’t been picked so early
🌞 This is also the time I start checking the garden daily, because things can go from not ready to overripe very fast in warm weather
Eating with the season makes it easier to enjoy what’s naturally ready instead of fighting the calendar.
