MAY GENERAL MEETING
Thursday, May 28, 2026 • 7 pm
Shepard Garden & Arts Center
“These are a few of my favorite things . . .”
Speakers: Perennial Plant Club members
May’s meeting will be an inspiring “Show & Tell” from 10 of our members. Each will share a favorite garden book or plant from their gardening journey. They will be available for questions during the break.
Following our break will be:
“Who Does What?”
The Perennial Plant Club’s Board officers, committee chairs or representatives will share what goes on behind the scenes to keep the club educational, fun and interesting. If time permits, pre-written questions (3x5 card provided) from the audience will be presented by the moderator.
Daisy’s Half-Dozen
Because the May meeting will have a different format, Daisy will display her selection of plants on the side cabinets along with a list and description of the plants. Plant information handouts will be limited. Please consider taking a photo of the handout.
Bring to the meeting:
• Treats to share with others. Please include your name next to your treat for recipe sharing.
• Garden tools, kitchen knives, and scissors for sharpening as well as containers that need drilling. Remember the price is whatever you wish to donate.
• Gently-used, garden-related items for our “donate-what-you-wish” Tools & Treasures table. Remember, if you bring something and it’s still on the table when you leave, you need to take your item home.
2026 Membership—Renewal
In order to continue to receive email updates about club activities, don’t forget to renew your membership. Drop off your membership application and dues at the meeting.

Famous, Fabulous, Free-Spirited, Fetching—French Gardens in All Their Glory
Speaker: Pat Smith
Patricia Beach Smith is a retired journalist and opera singer, and an avid traveler who gets great pleasure tromping in and around gardens, wherever she may find them! She has explored lovely landscapes throughout the world and found something to admire everywhere from roadside intersections to formal gardens surrounding beautiful castles.
Her April program will take us to some pretty amazing French gardens, from eclectic and off the beaten track to some we will likely all recognize.
Daisy’s Half-Dozen
After the break, Daisy Mah, shares her choice of six blooming perennials, along with an informative handout.
