ed ability to envision and deliver consistently extraordinary designs led her to become a lead designer and consultant for HGTV and DIY network television shows, including Turf Wars, Room Crashers, Yard Crashers, Bath Crashers, and House Crashers. Each of these shows has captured Misha’s unique triple-threat combination of design, construction, and computer rendering expertise, which has become the cornerstone for Design by Misha. Misha’s beginnings in design started as a child when she grew up in a 1920’s Craftsman bungalow house featured on the cover of Sunset Magazine. She then worked ten years in the fashion industry where she consulted as a color and design expert for multinational companies throughout the western United States. Misha’s color coordination and expertise continues to be a trademark service of Design by Misha today. Beyond the business of design, Misha is dedicated to serving people in need and preserving the earth’s natural beauty. She has worked on several philanthropic construction projects in Central America and the Caribbean and has committed Design by Misha to do the same. Additionally, Misha aims to utilize sustainable and reclaimed materials in all of her designs.

We love seeing the seasonal change happening in the yards we design. This front yard in particular had these gorgeous maples that we moved into new locations so that they could really show off their autumn colors! Walking to the front door past these beauties is always welcoming year around, but especially during pumpkin season! 🍁 🍁 🍁

A drought tolerant backyard space that feels like a get-away! We loved incorporating the custom Corten steel planters and beautiful Ipe deck to give ton of dimension and to bring in the Napa vibes that our clients were requesting.

This was a complete overhaul of a space for a certain ultra-deserving woman and her family. This room was dark and paneled with maroon carpeting and we were able to bring in some serious California vibes to lighten it up. Most importantly, we created a home for a beautiful family to enjoy for years to come! Catch the entire transformation on HGTV’s show Build it Forward on Hulu, Discovery+, and HGTV!

Success! 🙌🏻 I added these panels to our fridge and it is looking pretty darn sleek and beautiful! I am so happy with the material selections made for this renovation, the kitchen is the heart of the home and the modern updates have made a huge impact, not to mention much better functionality for my family and I. These days, any hint of sunshine makes us more ready for Spring! This space really lets the sunlight in and the design brings such an airy quality ⛅️ Get me a coffee and a good book and leave me here! Light and airy has been the trend for a while and though we’re still on-board, we’ve been feeling the moody and colorful trends coming on strong on Instagram or magazines (yep, I still read them 😉)! What is your current fave trend?
