🌿 Flowering season is here! 🌿
When your plants reach this stage, the goal shifts from lots of leafy growth to supporting flowers and keeping them healthy through harvest. Bear in mind that different strains flower at different times, so you may have some plants that have reached flowering stage while others are just getting going.
🌸 FEED THOUGHTFULLY
Ease up on high-nitrogen fertilizers. E.B. Stone Organics 420 Utra Bloom is formulated for the flowering stage. IN STOCK at PF! If you’ve recently applied the granular fertilizer, give it time to work before adding more—more isn’t necessarily better!
💧 NEED A LIQUID BOOST?
E.B. Stone Organics Fish & Kelp is a water-soluble option for supplemental feeding during flowering. Follow label directions and avoid overfeeding.
💦 WATER THE ROOTS, NOT THE FLOWERS
Water deeply as needed, preferably in the morning, directing water at the soil. Keeping developing flowers dry and maintaining good airflow becomes increasingly important as they get denser.
🐛 WATCH FOR PESTS
Check regularly for caterpillars, mites and other pests. We carry organic gardening options from Captain Jack’s and Safer®. During flowering, treat only when necessary and always follow the label, including any pre-harvest interval.
🍃 YELLOWING FAN LEAVES?
Some older fan leaves naturally yellow as flowering progresses. Once mostly yellow, damaged or dying, gently remove them—especially if they’re crowding dense flowers. Leave healthy green fan leaves to do their job!
🍂 WATCH FOR BUD ROT
Keep flowers dry and maintain good airflow. Remove any rotting material promptly rather than trying to spray established rot.
The takeaway? Less can be more. Feed appropriately, water wisely, inspect often and don’t throw a bunch of products at an otherwise happy plant. 🌱💚
Stop by The Plant Foundry and we’ll help you find the right products for this important stage!
Don’t over-complicate it; Have fun!
