Last week, AIACV leaders had the honor of meeting with Carole Wedge, FAIA, the newly appointed EVP/CEO of the American Institute of Architects. This insightful roundtable discussion provided a valuable opportunity to connect with her and gain her perspectives on critical topics impacting our profession.

During the discussion, AIACV leaders openly addressed key challenges confronting architectural firms in our region. These included economic and client-related hurdles, the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence, and evolving strategies for risk assessment within firms.

The conversation also delved into the multifaceted concept of value—the value our local chapter brings to members, and the significant contributions of AIA California and AIA National. Furthermore, discussions highlighted the importance of supporting emerging professionals, engaging in the K-12 community, and reshaping the public's perception of architects.
