Sacramento Mid-Century Modern Pad
Mid-century modern design isn’t just a trend—it’s a movement that’s stood the test of time. Born in the post-World War II era (roughly from the mid-1940s to the late 1960s), this architectural and design style is beloved for its clean lines, integration with nature, and commitment to functional beauty. Whether you're renovating an original structure or creating a new home from the ground up, embracing mid-century modern design offers a harmonious balance between simplicity and sophistication.
Mid-Century Modern home design requires clean lines, minimal ornamentation, large glass windows, mix of natural and industrial materials, functional open spaces, and integration with nature and indoor-outdoor flow.
In this home we incorporated furniture that was simple, functional, and stylish, and used wood, brick and glass, as well as natural breathable fabrics.
The Herman Miller table is nested in the center of the living room sitting area. We applied earthy colors, geometric patterns, and variety of materials creating warmth without clutter.
The refurbished kitchen's stove is original from 1950s, as are the kitchen cabinets, and build-in bookshelves in the living room.
Overall we wanted to create harmony, simplicity, and timeless elegance, while respecting the principles of mid-century modern design and creating a space that feels both retro and refreshingly modern.
