To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing to recommend Adam Gessler as an outstanding handyman. Adam has worked for me doing a variety of projects large and small over the last five years. He does great work and is a phenomenally trustworthy and all-arou
nd delightful guy. Here are some of the projects that Adam has done for me:
• Built shelves for basement storage
• Pressure washed and sealed the deck
• Patched walls
• Adjusted kitchen cabinets and drawers
• Installed new electric garage doors at my rental property
• Remodeled an entire full bath at rental property, including demolition of old bathroom, replacement of flooring, installation of new cabinets, countertop and ventilation fan, and all tile work in the tub/shower area
• Cleared clogged bathroom drains
• Fenced entire yard for keeping Chihuahua inside (no escapes yet!)
• Painted front steps with non-slip finish
• Painted front of the house
• Built handrail for front steps
• Hung plates and picture frames
• Hung shelves
I have always been extremely satisfied with the quality of Adam’s work. He shows up on time, works hard, and stays until the job is done. He has never complained about a job being too small. He is courteous, friendly, and kind: a true “family man.”
When Adam was cleaning out my bathroom drains, he found a pair of diamond earrings under the sink that I thought were lost, I hadn’t seen them in years! They belonged to my grandmother and are very valuable. The fact that he brought the earrings to me right away cemented my impression of Adam as a very honest man. I was so grateful! I could go on and on about how much I like Adam and the work he does. Please feel free to call or email me if you would like to speak with me directly about hiring Adam for any kind of handyman or construction work. Sincerely,
Ellen F.

To Whom it May Concern:
A little background first. My house was built in 1958 and for the last 25 years no serious maintenance work was done. There were multiple problems that needed to be fixed. Work was needed on both the inside and outside of the house. Outside, a section of fence needed to be replaced, multiple panels on a patio cover needed to be replaced and other panels secured, a tail rafter on the house had dry rot. Inside, each bathroom had the original commode. One bathroom had the original linoleum floor that needed to be replaced, dry rot around the toilet, and a porcelain sink had large rust spots. The other bathroom had a shower that leaked and had damaged the wall plaster and a fan that didn't work. Also, the kitchen fan and garbage disposal no longer worked. My husband has Parkinsons and is legally blind, so to remove tripping hazards, we needed a second phone jack installed and multiple grab bars were needed in a hallway and his bathroom. During our first meeting with Adam he went over our wish list, item by item. He asked us our preference and if we didn't know, he explained our options. There were things we were able to do on the list and Adam was more than willing to listen and work with us. With each project he kept us informed about what was happening. The new fans didn't fit the old housings, drain pipes under the sink needed to be replaced, shut-off valves were frozen, the fiberglass panel ridges had changed so new boards were needed, etc. Through all the problems Adam remained upbeat and positive. The work he did was first rate. Outside, the new fence matches the old fence, the patio panels made it through the high winds of the last few storms, and you cannot tell where the roof rafter was repaired. Adam suggested new commodes that are a couple of inches taller so they are easier for my husband to use. Adam repaired the sheetrock in the bathroom. After I painted the plaster you cannot tell where the damage was. The loose tiles in the shower were regrouted and the shower leaks were sealed to prevent further damage. The tile floor Adam installed in the bathroom is a work of art. He had to cut tiles to fit around cabinets, walls and the curved side of the bathtub. The old sink was under the tile and that was what I wanted until Adam brought a sink that went over the tiles to show me what it looked like. I looked so much better. He selected a sink, faucet and baseboards that all blended with the rest of the bathroom. It is a pleasure just walking into the bathroom. Before installing the grab bars Adam worked with my husband so they were placed at the exact height and location where he needed them. He uses them every day and feels much safer. Adam made sure the walking areas were clear for my husband. To avoid damage, Adam wore booties and took care to cover floors and furniture. At the end of the day he cleaned up the area and placed all tools and materials in a spare bedroom. If we need work in the future I would definitely call Adam and would, without reservation, recommend him to my friends. Sincerely,
Barbara M.

Dear Adam,
Where should I begin with so many nice things to convey? I would like to thank you formally for the wonderful job you did in overhauling our property in Alameda to make it presentable for sale. I suppose you have worked on houses in worse condition as well as those in better condition, but your work for us on our house was great. I had no qualms about turning everything over to you, and my trust was well rewarded. The realtors commented several times about the condition of the house. You said several times that (your work) was the purpose of everything and the goal was met! The job may have taken longer than we originally estimated, but, interestingly enough, the timing proved to be a blessing in disguise, for we found a newly wed couple looking for "our house" now. I don't think I could have planned things better if I had tried. I know the renovation was lengthy and caused you to be away from your family much more than you might have planned. I also know you do your work ultimately for them. Please thank "the ladies" both for their patience and extra supervision you received from your daughter(s) who accompanied Dad to work. I hope they are proud. Thank you again very much. Sincerely,
Larry S.

I don't know what comes to mind for you when you hear the word: handy man. For me its an appealing idea but a roll of the dice experience! Adam who is dealing with our cruddiest and most challenging problem was nothing short of princely, with courtesy and competence abounding. The whole operation is very well run, and best of all perhaps, enjoyable and satisfying to do business with. Will use again and again. Peter B.
